Install Brother Driver Printer for MacOS 10.15

How to Install Brother Driver PrinteMac OS is a system that is the most widely used by users throughout the world. For Brother models the printer supports a Macintosh catalina operating system version 10.15 that you can use.

Now we will provide a guide for you Macintosh version 10.15 catalina users to install the Brother printer driver. This guide is only for Brother printer users with mac catalina 10.15 operating system support.

Follow the following guide

  • Download the target files to your Macintosh. Once downloading, the Installer Disk Image will be mounted on your Desktop. You will find the installer package icon “xxxxxxxx.pkg” on the desktop.

Important:
If you don’t find the installing package icon, please extract the downloaded file “xxxxxxxx.dmg” manually with the MacOS “Disk Utility“. The “Disk Utility” can be found in /Applications/ or Utilities. Using the “Disk Utility“, the Installer Disk Image can be mounted.

  • Please, Double click the installer package icon “xxxxxxxx.pkg“. Follow the instructions on the screen.

We will provide a guide for you users using USB

  • Connect the USB cable into your machine and your Macintosh using. Ensure that the machine is power on.

Note:
Do not connecting the machine to a USB port on a keyboard or a non-powered USB hub.

  • The printer driver will be installed automatically.
  • You need to make sure if the installation of the print driver is completed.
  • Select “System Preferences” from the Apple Menu **.
  • And the click the “Printers & Scanners (Print & Scan)” icon ***.

First case (CUPS Driver)

  1. Check if your Brother machine’s is display in the “Printers” section.
  2. If your Brother machine is displayed, the setup is now completed.
  3. If your Brother machine is not displayed, try to disconnect and connect the USB interface cable to your Macintosh OS again. And then repeat the steps ***** to check if the installations of the print driver is completed.

BR-Script Driver

  1. Please, click the icon “+” button which is locating below the “Printers” section.
  2. Click the “Default” icon which is located at the top of the dialog box.
  3. Select your machine from the “Name (Printer Name)“.
  4. Make sure that “XXXXXXX + PS” or “XXXXXXX + BR-Script3” is selected in the “Use (Print Using)” list. (Where XXXXXXX is your model name.).
  5. Select “Add“. The printer is now available in the “Printers & Scanners (Print & Scan)” list.
  6. Select “Quit System Preferences” from the Apple Menu. The setup is now completed.

For Network Users (if applicable):

  • Please, connect your Brother machine and your Macintosh to the network.

  • Please, select “System Preferences” from the Apple Menu.
  • Click the “Printers & Scanners (Print & Scan)” icon.
  • Click the “+” button which is locating below the “Printer” section.

CUPS Driver

  1. Click the “Default” icon which is located at the top of the dialog box.
  2. Select your machine from the “Name (Printer Name)” list.
  3. Make sure that “XXXXXXX + CUPS” is selected in the “Use (Print Using)” list. (Where XXXXXXX is your model name.).
  4. Select “Add“. The printer is now available in the “Printers & Scanners (Print & Scan)” list.
  5. Please, select “Quit System Preferences” from the Apple Menu. The setup is now completed.

BR-Script Driver

  1. Click the “IP” icon which is locating at the top of the dialog box.
  2. Select “LPD (Line Printer Daemon)” from the “Protocol” list.
  3. Enter the TCP/IP Address or DNS Name of the printer into the “Address” box.
  4. When specifying the “Queue Name“, use the value “BRNxxxxxxxxxxxx_P1_AT” where xxxxxxxxxxxx is the last 12 digit of the Ethernet address.
  5. Select “Select a driver to use…” from the “Use (Print Using)” list and choose “XXXXXXX + PS” or “XXXXXXX + BR-Script3” from the list. (Where XXXXXXX is your model name.).
  6. Please click “Add“. The printer is now available in the “Printers & Scanners (Print & Scan)” list.
  7. Select “Quit System Preferences” from the Apple Menu. The setup is now completed.
